                     Scanner Resources

Police Call frequency guide is one of the best scanner resources around. It's an excellent guide for first time scanner users or experienced veterans and contains information on frequencies,10 codes, system maps as well as how to set up a good monitoring station.Volume 4 covers the Kentucky/Indiana area.

This new book written by Ham Radio For Dummies author Ward Silver shows novice or would-be radio users how to communicate using today’s citizen’s band radios (CBs), HF and VHF marine radios and ham radios. It explains how to use scanners and other radios to listen in on aviation and police bands, sporting events such as air shows and auto races, short-wave radio broadcasts, distant TV and radio stations (TV-FM-AM DXing), weather reports, unlicensed radio services, and more. It covers operating conventions, equipment availability, licensing, and technical considerations for each type of radio. The author details how to install or position radios and antennas for best results in homes, cars, boats, and the outdoors.I have not yet read this book but it looks to be vary informative.I highly recomend reading it.
