These are frequencies that would be useful to monitor before,during and after a natural or man made diasater occurs.These are frequencies for not only government agencies like FEMA, Kentucky National Guard and Kentucky Emergency Management but civilian organizations as well like SKYWARN, REACT, ARES, RACES, American Red Cross and WAVE and WLKY TV remote broadcast pickup.

SKYWARN Frequencies
SKYWARN is the National Weather Service's volunteer storm spotter program.SKYWARN radio nets are set up on VHF and UHF ham radio frequencies during severe weather conditions.It's a good idea to monitor the SKYWARN spotter nets for up-to-the-second weather information.

Radio Emergency Associated Communications Teams (REACT) (Like ARES/RACES, REACT is also an emergency communications organization but unlike their ham radio counterparts REACT not only uses amateur radio to get the message out but Citizans Band (CB) radio,General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS), Family Radio Service (FRS), VHF Marine radio and VHF Business band radio as well.They can usually be contacted on CB emergency channel 9 or on GMRS frequency 462.600)
